A Southwest Airlines passenger has been fined more than $20,000 for a February disturbance at Dallas Love Field.
As confirmed by the FAA yesterday, the unidentified man is among eight people fined a combined $124,000 for interfering with flight attendants.
In February, the man was boarding a Dallas-to-Albuquerque flight and refused to wear a mask.
The FAA says the passenger finally pulled a bandana over his face but as soon as he was aboard, he removed it.
As the jet was pulling away from the gate he once more refused to cover his face after being asked to do so. According to reports, the pilot returned to the gate and a Southwest employee entered to escort the passenger off the plane, that is when the man assaulted the employee.
That was enough to get the man a Dallas police citation for assault. Now, on top of that, comes the FAA fine for $21,000.
