Fair Park will open for Coronavirus vaccinations on Saturday, the first of seven Saturday clinics planned by Dallas County.
With fears of the Coronavirus and its Delta variant ramping up, causing a sharp uptick in patients being treated in hospitals, Dallas county officials want to see more people getting the vaccines.
Before the rise of the Delta variant, the county closed down the Fair Park site last month because there was not much demand for the vaccines. But now, Fair Park is going to again host a mega-site from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm each Saturday through September 18th.
Since the vaccines became available, Dallas County says more than 99 percent of COVID-19 deaths have been among the unvaccinated. The Delta variant now makes up 80 percent of total cases.
