
Working through the night, Oncor crews have whittled the number of North Texas power outages from about 115,000 to around 19,000 as of about 5 a.m. Friday.

Yesterday's ferocious winds caused a lot of damage to trees which took down power lines across the region.
Oncor's Grant Cruz says they are bringing in crews from around Texas and from out-of-state to help out.
DFW Airport reported at least one gust of 60 miles-an-hour and sustained winds were enough for the airport to shut down a runway in the afternoon. A National Weather Service Wind Advisory kicked in around mid-day and continued through midnight.
Dallas Fire-Rescue warned people downtown to avoid the block of Elm Street between North Field and Akard because debris was blowing off the top of a downtown highrise building. In some cases, firefighters were sent to the top of buildings to secure items that looked like they might blow over the side.
