What will be the final fix for congestion along Highway 380 in McKinney? A decision could be right around the corner.
TxDOT recently released its ‘preferred alternative’ to Highway 380 between Coit Road and FM 1827. And last night, it held its last public hearing about the project. Dozens of people turned out to voice their opinions.
“We don't like it,” Jon Dell’Antonia, president of Stonebridge Ranch Homeowners Association, told our partners at NBC 5. “I was really disappointed.”
TxDOT’s latest proposal would expand 380 from a six-lane highway into an eight-lane freeway with frontage roads, and would bypass a large part of the existing highway altogether. 22 homes and 35 businesses would be displaced.
TxDOT says it’s gotten more than 8-thousand public comments on this since the process began. Public comments can still be submitted online through March 21.
A final decision is expected by the end of the year.
