Dallas (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas man has become the third suspect to be arrested for the June 4th murder of a Sachse man.

Brandon Duepree Dale, 40, was arrested in Dallas. Dale, Taylor Nichole James, 31 and her husband, Zachary Wayne Shoppa, 27, are all being held on charges of capital murder by terroristic threat/other felonies. Police say the three are behind the beating and strangulation of Salah Eid.

According to an arrest affidavit, Eid’s body was found in his home on June 7th shortly after his stolen pickup truck was spotted in the parking lot of the Meadows Foundation near Baylor University Medical Center.

A police detective said a credible witness told investigators that Shoppa at first wanted to sell him the $51,000 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, but backed out of the deal because the truck had been stolen. “Shoppa was crying as Shoppa made statements about being involved in a homicide in Sachse, Texas,” the affidavit says. “Shoppa described the victim as an ‘Arabian’ male who was killed.”

The affidavit says Dale, James and Shoppa intended to rob Eid “but we ended up killing the guy.”

Police say Eid was beaten and strangled.

The affidavit says an off-duty Dallas County Sheriff’s detective was working at a second job as a security officer at the Meadows Foundation on June 7th when he saw a male suspect, later identified as Shoppa, park the truck and begin to wipe it down. The officer watched as a LYFT driver then picked up Shoppa. The officer told Shoppa he could not leave the truck on private property, but that Shoppa assured him that a friend would be by to pick up the truck “in 10 minutes” according to the affidavit.

When nobody showed up, the officer ran the license plate and traced the truck to Eid. Police later found Eid’s body.

Police say the credible witness who was going to buy the truck called Shoppa on his cell phone and said he was with investigators who wanted to talk with him and that Shoppa told police “I panicked, I didn’t know what to do,” according to the affidavit. Shoppa claimed he was going to contact an attorney and surrender, but failed to show, the affidavit says.

Shoppa was found and arrested in the southern Texas town of Sealy. James was arrested about 50-miles away in Wharton, Texas. Police say she was arrested while jogging and did not put up any resistance.
