A driver is okay because Flower Mount firefighters used some creative thinking to help rescue him on Sunday.

Reports say the driver's car crashed off Long Prairie Road near Waketon. The car ended up a long way off the road in a very soft, marshy field.

The ground was too wet to risk taking vehicles out there so firefighters extended their longest extension ladder horizontally, reaching it all the way to the stuck car with the stranded driver.

Firefighters walked out to the end of the ladder and helped the driver aboard for the trip back to solid ground.
