A former Dallas school district employee and a church leader has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
Court records show that 65-year-old John Lentz of Mesquite was a worker at the Dallas School District's Foster Elementary School, he was also a church leader and involved in the Boy Scouts. In 2021 Lentz was caught with illegal child pornography.
Both the school district and the Boy Scouts fired Lentz.
Under terms of the plea agreement a judge put Lentz on probation for the next six years. He will be a registered sex offender for life and he had to surrender his teaching license.
