The Fort Worth Public Library and Amplify 817 are hosting a free concert showcase on August 17 at Will Rogers Auditorium, bringing the commercial-free, Fort Worth music streaming platform to the live stage.

"We are thrilled to host the Amplify 817 Showcase," says Theresa Davis with the Fort Worth Public Library. "It's a celebration of 'the 817,' we love Fort Worth."

Cut Throat Finches, Averi Burk, Bencjones and GR4NT will be playing at the one-night-only concert.

Since Amplify 817’s launch in 2020 as a commercial-free music streaming platform featuring Fort Worth musicians, the Library has continued to evolve Amplify 817 into a strong support network for artists.

"It's amazing," says Sean Russell from Cut Throat Finches, of the support of Amplify 817. "Having travelled the country and even done some shows overseas, it's rare to have a city back you like that and give you an opportunity to get started and get your foot in the door."

Every one of the more than 60 artists played on the platform are paid a one-time fee for their work.

And now, the next level: taking the show live. And playing Will Rogers Auditorium is special to Russell.

"We're really excited," says Russell. "I've seen some of the most legendary bands that made me want to become a musician in the first place (there)."

The concert is free, but they do ask that you reserve your ticket so they know how many fans to expect.
