FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD)- A Fort Worth family of eight is okay but their home has extensive damage from a weekend fire.
When fire crews arrived, flames were racing through a home on Country Manor Road near Crowley Road and Sycamore School Road. The fire was up into the attic when firefighters arrived and the home was heavily damaged.
Despite that, two adults and six children escaped without injury.
At about the same time, fire crews doused a blazing pick-up. The original 911 call told firefighters there was a structure fire on West Biddison a few blocks west of I-35. When they pulled up, though, they found the pick-up burning furiously and the truck was absolutely destroyed.
The flames also spread to a vehicle next to it. But no injuries were reported.
Those were two of more than a dozen fires the Fort Worth Fire Department contended with over the weekend. In the Fort Worth Poly neighborhood, flames completely destroyed a home on Avenue G near Highway 287. Commanders say the entire home collapsed in 15 minutes.
