If you would like to witness a Fort Worth ISD board meeting, you will need to show up in person and behave yourself.
Starting Tuesday, the meetings will be held at the Fort Worth ISD Teaching and Learning Center, 1050 Bridgewood Dr.
With the new location, the school district says it will no longer live-stream board meetings; Instead, it will post videos of the meetings the following day on its YouTube channel.
It also outlined 12 new guidelines for decorum that attendees will need to abide by:
1. After the agenda is posted, anyone wishing to make a public comment may sign up by calling 817-814-1920 by 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting, or signing up at the meeting by 5:20 p.m. Written statements will not be read out loud during the meeting.
2. Board members may not engage in a verbal discussion about a subject not posted on the agenda.
3. Participants must specify the agenda items or topics in their comments.
4. Participants addressing items on the agenda will speak only during the public comment portion dedicated to discussion of agenda items.
5. People wishing to address the board on items, not on the agenda may only do so during the public comment portion of the meeting.
6. Speakers are limited to three minutes. When more than 20 people have signed up to speak, the limit will be one minute.
7. Speakers needing an interpreter will be allowed double the allotted time, with prior approval.
8. Speakers may not relinquish their allotted time to another speaker.
9. Signs are limited to 22"x28" in size.
10. Vulgar and profane language will not be tolerated.
11. Attendees who disrupt the meeting will be subject to ejection from the meeting by law enforcement following the issuing of a single warning.
12. Employees, parents and members of the public must comply with the appropriate grievance policy to have a complaint heard pursuant to applicable board policy.
