An art exhibit on display at Galleria Dallas is raising money for UNICEF's response in Ukraine. The exhibit features paintings by Volta Voloshin-Smith, an artist living in Addison who was born in the former Soviet Union; her parents are Ukrainian and Moldovan.

"We've partnered with her to do an exhibit of her artwork so our guests can see a little bit of her work," says Holly Quartaro, fashion and lifestyle director at Galleria Dallas. "She specializes in watercolor art. She has a book called Color Snack, which is showing people how to do watercolors of your favorite food items."

The exhibit includes a QR code where people can make donations to UNICEF. The organization says "humanitarian needs are multiplying by the hour as the fighting continues." UNICEF is working with children and families forced from their homes in Ukraine.

"It's important to know about the culture of the Ukrainian people as we're donating and raising money for them," Quartaro says. "This is a perfect way to combine both artwork and the Ukrainian roots of this artist."

Quartaro says the exhibit can show similarities among different cultures.

"We do have so much in common with people from across the globe," she says. "This Ukrainian artist lives here, and we love to feature her work and bring us all back together as one."

Voloshin-Smith's work is on display on Level One between the ice rink and Westin Galleria. The exhibit will stay on display through the end of April.
