Ofc. Felicia Jones said the boys were on the front porch of a home on East Vista Drive when one of them was shot.

"Someone from inside the house heard a gunshot," Jones said. "They came outside and see the victim on the porch with a gunshot wound."

When police arrived, they said one of the 15-year-olds had fled the scene. The other was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition Wednesday.

Police caught up with the other teen involved and took him in for questioning. At this point, they said they're still trying to figure out what exactly happened and whether or not the shooting was accidental.

"It's just an unfortunate event," Jones said. "We have one 15-year-old in the hospital, we have one that was possibly in possession of a deadly weapon. It's just a bad situation."

As of Wednesday morning, no arrests had been made.
