Austin (1080 KRLD) - Texas Governor Greg Abbott has released a statement saying that he plans to hold a border security briefing with border sheriffs in Austin this weekend.
The meeting will be held at the State Capitol on Saturday, July 10th at 12:00 p.m.
Abbott will be joined by Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, Adjutant General of Texas Tracy Norris, and Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw.
This comes after Texas legislators began a special session ordered by Abbott this Thursday during which he aims to address 11 items including border security.
