DFW is a pretty big metroplex, which is why public transportation is so important. Luckily for those in Grand Prairie, the city just launched a new on-demand public transportation rideshare program. Locals can now get a ride all over the city using the app Via.
Grand Prairie recently announced their new public transportation program, thanks to a $3.8 million grant from the Federal Transportation Administration. Residents can use the service by downloading the Via app, or by calling call 214-253-0874. The service has been available in Arlington since 2017. According to Dallas Morning News, the service runs from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
One way rides on Via will only cost $3, and they will also provide transportation to four nearby colleges: Tarrant County Community College Southeast campus, University of Texas at Arlington, Dallas Baptist University and Dallas County College Mountain View campus. There are designated pick up spots throughout the city and wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available upon request. With this, transportation in Grand Prairie has never been easier.
