Haltom City Police have a bone to pick with a woman who picked off some bones from the city's public library.

"If you happen to see a skeleton wearing a Tinkerbell costume, give us a holler over at Haltom City PD," says Det. Matthew Spillane. "We'd love to take a look at it. I can't imagine there's too many out there."

As a way of lightening the mood, the Haltom City Public Library had on display a skeleton dressed as Tinkerbell.

It named it Boney Stark, after the Marvel Comics character Tony Stark.

"It was especially popular with the kids that frequent the library and something that's a centerpiece of their decorations they have over there," says Det. Spillane.

On April 4th, Boney Stark disappeared.

Surveillance cameras, however, captured the thief red-handed.

"As they reviewed their video, they found a woman walking out with her beloved Boney Stark," Spillane says.

Neither library staff nor the police department recognize the woman in the surveillance footage.

Police and the library do not find this humorous; but if you find that humerus -- along with the other 205 bones of the skeleton - either call Haltom City Police or email the library.

"Thankfully, it's the first time I've had to deal with the theft of a skeleton of any sort, much less one dressed as Tinkerbell," says Spillane.
