Seven children all within ages 7 to 16-years-old are safe with state officials and their Houston-area mom and her boyfriend are under arrest in Louisiana until they can be sent back to Harris County.
It was a sight to behold. Still wearing handcuffs, the 16-year-old twins escaped and were spotted and brought to law enforcement officials saying they were held against their will.
Reports say they were new to the area and were a little vague about the location of the home where they'd been imprisoned. So, it took a while before deputies fiund the place - and by then the mother and her boyfriend - later identified as Zaikiya Duncan and her boyfriend Jova Terrell, had fled with five younger brothers.
After a statewide search and with word of the couple put out to law enforcement agencies, they were located and captured in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but they had only the youngest boy with them.
Reports say they claimed they had dropped the other four children off with a relative.
Police found them there and all of the children are now in the care of CPS. The mom and boyfriend are facing a long string of charges.
