Healthcare systems across the country are teaming up to urge people to take COVID-19 seriously.
Barclay Berdan with Texas Health Resources says he understands how frustrating it is for everyone, but says healthcare workers have made tremendous sacrifices throughout the pandemic and they need help from the public.
Berdan says one of the best ways to slow the spread is by wearing a mask, and that it's frustrating to him that some people refuse to do so.
The coronavirus continues to rage here in Texas. The state shattered another record for the number of new cases reported in a single day confirming 13, 998 new cases on Tuesday, and 162 more deaths.
The state's previous single day record was Saturday when just under 13,000 new cases were reported.
In Dallas County the number of new cases has more than tripled in a single day. Dallas county Health officials reported 1,516 new cases and 200 probable cases yesterday after confirming just over 500 new cases the day before. Dallas County also reported 7 additional deaths.
In Tarrant County, 1,710 new coronavirus cases were reported and 5 more deaths. It is the 7th day in a row more than one thousand new cases were reported in the county.
Collin County reported 591 new cases and 2 more deaths, and Denton County confirmed 414 new cases but no additional deaths.
