It appears an HEB supermarket could be coming to Southern Dallas.
The San Antonio-based grocer confirms it's purchased the building on West Wheatland Road that used to be an Albertsons. That store closed in 2004. The company says the purchase is in anticipation of future growth in the area but isn't saying when that growth will happen.
HEB has been expanding in North Texas and is planning on opening stores in Plano and Frisco this fall. They expect to open a store in McKinney in early 2023.
