
The storm system that moved through North Texas late on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning brought rain and high winds to most of the region, but one community also experienced a tornado.

Crews with the National Weather Service have confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Rockwall County around 4:30 a.m.
The tornado was only on the ground for about two minutes, but that was enough to damage several homes in the community of McLendon-Chisolm just south of I-30 near State Highway 205. The top winds within the tornado were about 100 miles per hour. The storm tracked on the ground for about half a mile before lifting back into the air. No injuries were reported.
Other communities in North Texas including Benbrook, Mansfield, and Cedar Hill experienced straight-line winds of more than 50 miles per hour.
