A Plano man remains locked up on charges tied to the discovery of his wife's body that was found in Lewisville Lake on The Colony side Monday.

The Medical Examiner identified the remains as the body of his wife Sarah Dudley who was reported missing on Saturday.

Plano police report that Karlton Dudley was wearing an ankle monitor from another case and the data from that device showed Dudley was on the water at Lewisville Lake on Saturday, the day his wife vanished and two days before her body was recovered.

Detectives say Dudley claimed he went to the lake to use his inflatable kayak. However, he said his air pump failed and he was never able to inflate the watercraft, so he left. But the ankle monitor data tells police he did get out on the lake so they want to know why he tried to deceive them.

Dudley has not been charged in the death of his wife but is jailed on a charge of Abuse of a Corpse. He's also being held on a warrant related to an apparently unrelated 2022 charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
