A Dallas County jury found the man accused of fatally shooting his former girlfriend's husband guilty of murder Friday.

Darrin Lopez was convicted in the October 2020 shooting death of Jamie Faith, who was married to Lopez's former girlfriend, Jennifer Faith.

Lopez told jurors he had recently gone through a divorce and reconnected with Jennifer Faith, who told him her husband was going to kill her.

Lopez drove from Tennessee to Dallas and shot Jamie Faith while he and his wife were out on a walk. Lopez said he learned after the shooting that the story Jennifer Faith told him was fabricated.

Lopez could face life in prison. Jennifer Faith is already serving a life sentence.
