Lake Worth Police rescue missing teen who had been sexually trafficked

LAKE WORTH (1080 KRLD)- Lake Worth police say they have rescued a 14-year-old girl who had been drugged and sexually trafficked.

Police say the girl was actually reported missing out of Dallas earlier this month. Last week, they got information about her location, and rescued her from the Great Western Inn on Lake Worth Boulevard. Officers found the girl with a 50-year-old man.

The victim told police she had been trafficked, drugged and sexually assaulted. Police arrested Jesse Manuel and he faces several charges including trafficking a child and sexual assault of a child.

He's being held at the Tarrant County jail on $90,000 bond. The teen has been reunited with her family and was checked out at a hospital.

The Alliance for Children will work with the girl to help her heal from her traumatic experience.

Lake Worth Police say "We grieve for this beautiful young lady, commit to pursuing justice on her behalf, and vow to relentlessly pursue those who commit atrocities like this against our country’s children."
