Dallas Love Field airport wants to raise parking rates before summer vacation travels begin.
City Aviation Director Mark Duebner says the garages are priced far below other similar airports and it's discouraging people from using public transportation, taxis, or shared rides to get to Love Field. The flyers are driving, parking, and paying $9 a day for garage B.
Duebner wants to hike the price at Garage B by $4 a day.
"That's our biggest rate increase so we can have that availability on a regular basis, moving that to 13 (dollars)," Duebner said. "And then the B roof will still be discounted so there is a ultra-cheap product that we'll be able to offer at $10."
The rates at Garages A and C would go up a buck a day. Duebner says most of the flyers these days are leisure as opposed to business flyers and the vacationers like parking at the airport.
