A beloved police dog at Dallas Love Field is retiring because, sadly, he has terminal cancer.

Officials say Marco has worked as an explosives detection dog at Love Field for seven years. Marco's police partner, Dallas Senior Corporal Carroll Clore, will take his friend home to live out his final days as the family's pet.

The partners worked one last shift together yesterday, giving all of Marco's friends at Southwest Airlines, TSA and the terminal vendors a last chance to say their good-byes.

On his last day, Marco enjoyed a canine-safe cake in the shape of a large bone.
