The national President of the League of United Latin American Citizens says the organization will take action to prevent Texas from sending more buses filled with migrants to Washington, D.C. or New York.
"We will be going to Eagle Pass, Texas and Del Rio, Texas and stopping those buses before they leave there," said Domingo Garcia of Dallas. "Civil disobedience...putting people in front of the buses."
He says the group used similar tactics in 2018. He expects to start as soon as Monday.
"We're also going to be advising these immigrants of their legal rights, so that they are not used as political pawns for political stunts for politicians who think that human beings should be used in this type of manner."
Texas sent two buses with migrants from Colombia, Cuba, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela to Washington, D.C. on Thursday. They were dropped off outside the official residence of Vice President Kamala Harris.
"It is a political stunt," said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. "It is a cruel, inhumane way of people who are fleeing communism."
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Thursday sent two planes filled with migrants to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.
