A man is facing two charges of assault after police say he punched a woman he was involved in a fender bender with. When her friend tried to help, police say he punched her, too.

"What caused him to do? Regardless, there's no room for any violence, anywhere. Whether you're upset about an accident, or you don't like what somebody said ... it doesn't matter," said Officer Brian Martinez, with Dallas police.

The crash and subsequent attack happened Saturday afternoon on Cedar Plaza Lane. Police say the man, identified as 25-year-old Jaleel Sheehy, sideswiped the woman. Instead of getting out and exchanging information, he got out and started punching.

"Sheehy was taken to custody for an arrest warrant of misdemeanor assault and charged with an additional count of misdemeanor assault," Martinez said. "We're just very grateful we were able to capture this guy."

Officer Brian Martinez says neither woman was seriously injured. He says they're still trying to figure out if this is a classic case of road rage or if there's some other reason behind the attack.

Sheehy initially fled the scene, but was later tracked down thanks to an anonymous tip.
