A man faces a capital murder charge after being accused of fatally stabbing his 9-year-old son in McKinney on Friday afternoon, police say.
A neighbor called 911 and told authorities a woman at a home on Anson Court found her son unconscious and bleeding, McKinney police said.
When officers arrived they found the woman's husband trying to cut himself with a knife, and found a child in the garage, police said. The boy was stabbed multiple times and did not survive.
Police said officers took the boy's father into custody and transported him to an area hospital where he's being treated for his injuries. Police said capital murder charges were pending against the father.
McKinney police said they would share more information about what happened in the coming days and weeks.
