GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD)- The Grapevine man who is facing charges from the January 6th US Capitol insurrection can now get back on the internet.
Larry Brock had been allowed out of jail on bond, but barred from access to the internet and social media as conditions of bond.
The FBI is on the record saying it believes some of the insurrectionists used both social media and text messages to communicate and coordinate the attack. Brock is among those. In a filing objecting to use of the internet, federal prosecutors say Brock used Facebook to communicate with others about the uprising.
In postings during the riot, Brock wrote “Patriots on the Capitol,” “Patriots storming” and “men with guns need to shoot there (sic) way in” a motion by the government said.
But Brock complained that he was unable to find work and take online classes, and asked for a bond modification.
The new condition state Bruck can have “no access to the internet except for participation in online classes which he is enrolled, and internetmonitoring by the US Probation Officer, subject to change ifx unable to adapt monitoring” the order says. Handwritten in, “further exeption of internet access specificifally approved by his pretrial officer.”
The FBI says Brock was seen in video on the floor of the US Senate wearing military tactical gear that included a helmet, and holding plastic restraints.
He has pleaded no guilty to charges of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
A judge had previously allowed Brock to await trial on confinement to his father’s home. Conditions of bond include wearing an ankle monitor, no excessive drinking, remaining in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, traveling to the District of Columbia only for court and attorney visits and staying away from the US Capitol building.
