Dallas police have finally charged a suspect in a shooting that killed two people in Deep Ellum in mid-March, and they didn't have to look far to find him.

Early in the morning of March 15th, a masked man opened fire outside The Bitter End, a night club on Elm street near Malcolm X.

A man on the outdoor patio of the bar seemed to be the target, and he was hit and killed. But a bullet crashed through the window and also killed a female bystander inside. The killer got away.

Twelve days later, a man named Tommy Spell was arrested on completely unrelated charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and deadly conduct.

When Dallas detectives came to believe Spell was the gunman in the Bitter End killings, they knew just where to find him, in the Dallas County Jail.

Spell now has additional charges added to his resume, including murder of multiple persons.
