Man's body recovered from Grand Prairie lake

Grand Prairie (1080 KRLD) - The body of a man who had been seen swimming at Joe Pool Lake this Wednesday was recovered by the Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team on Saturday.

Recovered at approximately 8:15 a.m. from Joe Pool Lake, the unnamed 55-year-old's body has since been taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office

In a press release, the Grand Prairie Fire Department stated that on July 23rd at approximately 1:45 p.m. they had responded to a potential drowning call at Joe Pool Lake. This came after a man had not resurfaced following being seen swimming off a boat.

The City of Grand Prairie offered its condolences to the victim's family, while the GPFD took the opportunity to remind the public to wear life jackets or other appropriate floatation devices while near the water.
