On Saturday, family and friends remembered a young Grand Prairie child.
A memorial service was set up as an art show in memory of Nicolas Escalante who was hit by a car last month and later died.

His family says that Nicolas always dreamed of having his own art gallery one day. His many sketches were on display as family and friends celebrated his life.
The family says that they collected more than 150 pieces of Nicolas' art work.
All of the easels purchased for today's service will be donated to a local school in his memory.
