A convenience store clerk is recovering from a gunshot wound and the shooter is still on the run in Mesquite.
On Saturday, police say the clerk was on duty at the Howdy's Express store on Pioneer Road and Narcissus when an armed man came in demanding money.
Reports say the suspect apparently got the money but shot the clerk anyway. The clerk was conscious and able to converse with police before he was transported to a local hospital. His condiditon has not been released.
