Officials in Mesquite are trying to figure out what sparked two separate early morning fires that killed two people on Friday.
Just before 2:00 a.m., fire crews were called out to a home on Kimberly Drive, in the Broadmoor Estates subdivision. On arrival they found a home fully engulfed in flames.
After trying for several minutes to put out the flames, firefighters reported discovering a body in the rubble. That person's indentity hasn't been released.
Then, just after 6:15 a.m. fire crews got a call about a fire inside a room at a home on Ingram Circle, in the Meadow Lake area.
Reports say they were able to help one person at that home escape the fire, but a second later died at a nearby hospital. The identity of the deceased person has not yet been released.
No firefighters were hurt fighting either blaze. Both fires are under investigation.
