Mesquite police release bodycam footage of officer-involved shooting

MESQUITE (1080 KRLD)- Mesquite police have released a bodycam video after officers shoot a man they say fired at them.

Eventually, a family member notified dispatch that the suspect was at a business located in the 3700 block of Childress avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located and confronted the suspect who then fired at police. Two officers, one who has been with the department for six years and the other for three, returned fired and struck the suspect. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released into the custody of officers.

The suspect has been identified as Ladarius Davis and has been charged with aggravated assault on a public servant and burglary. The investigation into the shooting continues.
