Police have arrested a youth pastor in Mesquite on sexual abuse of a child charges.
32-year-old Conner "Jesse" Penny was arrested after police say he had sex with a teen under the age of 17 on multiple occasions between 2015 and 2018. Following his arrest, more victims came forward claiming they too had been abused by Penny starting in 2013.
At the time of his arrest, Penny was employed as the Youth Pastor at the Inspiration Church, in Mesquite. Penny has also worked at the Mesquite ISD and the City of Mesquite where he worked as a Teacher’s Aide and a counselor.
Penny is currently being held on a $2.5 million bond and faces three child sex abuse charges. Police are asking for any other potential victims to come forward.
