The mother of a 3-year-old boy who was fatally shot last month faces additional charges in connection to two of her other children, police say.
Lacravivonne Washington was already jailed on a charge of abandoning or endangering a child through criminal negligence in connection to the death of her son Jalexus.
Now, two identical charges have been filed pertaining to two more of Washington's children who were also in the car with Jalexus the morning he was shot, Dallas police said.
Police said Washington kept a pistol in the glove box, making the firearm accessible to the three children. Police said they believe Jalexus was shot inside the car but they cannot yet say who was holding the pistol.
Washington's original story was that the boy was shot by a man in another car during a road rage attack, police said. The autopsy proved that was physically impossible.
