Billionaire Elon Musk is now the unofficial mayor of a new Texas town.
The World's Richest Tech Bro, Elon Musk, says he's planning to build a "Texas Utopia" along the Colorado River where his employees would live and work. Musk and his companies have bought thousands of pasture and farmland just east of Austin in Bastrop County.
The town has already been named "Snailbrook," according to the Wall Street Journal, which references the mascot for Musk's Boring Company, named Gary the Snail. Some streets have already been named including Boring Boulevard, Waterjet Way, and Cutterhead Crossing. A number of modular homes, a pool, an outdoor sports facility and a gym have already been built.
Texas Law states that a town needs a minimum 201 residents and approval from a county judge before it can be incorporated.
