Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - Construction crews have finished work on a new ramp connecting eastbound SH 121 to southbound East Loop 820. It's opening to traffic today.
"This is a major milestone for our East Loop 820 Project," said Val Lopez with the Texas Department of Transportation. "This very much improves mobility and safety for a very heavily traveled roadway in Tarrant County."
The new ramp replaces a stop sign with a right turn movement to accommodate the increasing traffic in the region.
"It was certainly adequate when it opened up originally, but now we're trying to not only catch up but project for future accommodation of growth," Lopez said.
There is still construction in the area as part of the East Loop 820 Project, so drivers are being urged to remain alert for new traffic patterns.
