A nearly century-old Tradition is prepared for Texas’s triple-digit heat!
Despite the extreme heat this weekend, the 95th Annual North Texas Fair and Rodeo is underway in Denton, Texas.
Hannah Crandall, who works for the state fair, says carnival rides are operating later each evening as a means to address the recent heat.
“We have implemented a heat delay on our carnival till 7 o’clock because metal surfaces of those rides are too hot to touch, and then once they are cool to the touch, patrons are safe and comfortable,” Crandall said. “The rides will open up. And then everything else is running on schedule.”
The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is generating more than $12 million for Denton County and continues through next Saturday, Aug. 26.
