Monday weather lands #2 all-time greatest precipitation total in North Texas

Heavy rainfall in North Texas on Sunday and Monday, set two daily rainfall records. One on August 21st for 3.53 inches (previous 2.25 in 1919) and the second on August 22nd for 5.66 inches (previous 2.47 in 1916).

At 3:30 p.m. the 24- hour rain event ended. According to the National Weather Service, the rainfall finished No.2 on the all-time greatest 24-hour precipitation totals.
