“This operation is the result of several months of intense and unrelenting fact-finding work by the investigative teams of the FBI, DEA, and Specialized Units of the Dallas Police Department” stated Assistant Dallas Police Chief Mike Igo.

Operation Shut Down Corner involved more than 150 agents from various agencies including the DEA, FBI and Dallas police and resulted in the arrest of twenty alleged drug dealers, seizing 37 guns, 220 lbs of drugs including cocaine, fentanyl-laced pills, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

Agents also seized $420,000 in assets including cash, cars and jewelry.

Eduardo Chavez with the Dallas division of the DEA says they targeted one specific area of the city and one specific gang. Arrests were also made in Oklahoma and California.

Chavez says if convicted, some defendants face maximums of up to 40 years in federal prison.
