Number of children with COVID-19 on the rise in DFW

The latest COVID-19 figures for North Texas are in, and the number of children with the virus remains a concern.

It was another record-setting day when it comes to COVID cases in Dallas County. The county reported nearly 6,600 new confirmed and probable COVID cases and 11 more deaths. One of the victims was a Dallas woman who was only in her 20s.

Today, Tarrant County reported over 3,950 new COVID cases, and six additional deaths including a woman in her 30s.

In Denton County, another 722 there now have the virus. One person with COVID had passed away.

According to the DFW Hospital Council, there are 2,973 COVID patients being cared for - that's 160 more than yesterday.

As for kids, there are now 131 with COVID in the hospital, five more than the day before.
