One person dead, house destroyed in early morning fire in Fort Worth

One person is dead and a house is completely destroyed following an early morning house fire in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth fire officials say they got the 9-1-1 call around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday about two people trapped inside the burning home on Wayne Street.

When fire crews arrived a tthe scene they found the home spewing fire and smoke and kicked in the back door to rescue the people reported to be inside.

Once firefighters found them they carried them both outside and started treating them until they were taken to the hospital, but one of them didn't survive.

Officials say one of the four pets found in the home also did not survive.

Investigators are working to figure out what started the fire and the department sends its deepest condolences to the family.
