One person has died after being struck by traffic in southeast Dallas overnight.
Just past midnight, reports say the unidentified victim was hit while on foot on the north-bound side of I-45 near the I-20 interchange, just north of Hutchinson.
The person was already dead when police and paramedics arrived.
A Haz-Mat team was called in and officers closed the north-bound lanes through the night for the investigation and cleanup, Traffic was directed off at Highway 310 but the back-up became worse through the night.
Investigators have not determined why the victim was on foot. The scene was cleared and the north-bound lanes were cleared just after 6 a.m.
