Following dozens of noise complaints during an event last month, Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth is implementing some changes.
Last month's Ubbi Dubbi Festival ran late on both Saturday and Sunday nights. As a result, the Tarrant Regional Water District, which owns the venue, received dozens of noise complaints, with some people saying they could hear the sound from miles away.
"There were a lot of people upset, and I don't think anybody thinks that lightly," Darrell Beason, TRWD operations chief, told the board during Tuesday morning's meeting.
Beason said new operating hours are now in effect.
"Sunday to Wednesday, operating hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.," Beason said. "From Thursday to Saturday, those hours are 7 a.m. to midnight."
Event organizers can arrive prior to 7 a.m. to set up, but they cannot use any amplified sound before then.
The Water District will also establish a phone line for noise complaints, so that organizers can make quick adjustments if necessary.
