Pediatricians and drug stores across North Texas are now signing up to get a shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine when it's approved for kids as young as five years old.
Hospitalizations are dropping, with DFW Hospital Council president Stephen Love saying COVID-19 patients are now using just seven percent of hospital beds in this area, with about 300 fewer patients than a week ago.
Love says the vaccination rate among older kids has increased as the delta variant has spread, and he says he hopes parents will bring their younger kids to get vacinated, too.
He says clinics and drug stores will be ready to give shots within a day or two of approval next week.
