
Richardson schools are under a new mask mandate and parents in Plano want their school board to do the same. At the same time, Governor Greg Abbott is suing schools over those mandates.
The Governor's executive order last year that bars school districts from imposing mask mandates is still in effect and there are plenty of lawsuits that are all pending. Suits in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas County have already challenged the Governor and so far they have won over the judges.
Attorney Doug Alexander, who represents Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, says the Texas Supreme Court won't be hearing the arguments anytime soon. In fact, the Dallas County case is before the Supreme Court which is giving attorneys until January 26th just to file briefs.
Consolidating all the cases and setting a date for arguments isn't even on the horizon.
