The police body cam footage from the mass shooting that killed eight people and wound several others at the outlet mall in Allen has been released.
Saturday May 6th started as a normal day at the Allen Premium Outlets, but later that afternoon, shots ring out.
The bodycam video shows the officer who was on the scene at the time for an unrelated call starts moving toward the gunfire.
Unable to see where the shooter was, the officer begins running toward the chaos. But as he passes the scene and talks to witnesses he realizes what he's dealing with.
In the video, the officer continues to pursue the shooter until just three minutes from the moment the first shots were heard, he takes down the shooter.
Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey says "The officer recognized the danger, ran toward the gunfire and neutralized the threat, and for his actions, the Allen community is forever grateful."
