Scores of current and former Southwest Airline employees and supporters lined Denton drive outside the corporate headquarters today protesting the company's vaccine mandate.
The protests started at 8:30 a.m. Monday as pilots, baggage handlers and members of the public voiced opoposition to the company's decision to abide by the Biden Administration's vaccine mandate.

Attendees were encouraged to carry signs with the messages "Terminate the Mandate," "Freedom not Force," and "No Jabs for Jobs." Many were seen at the protest carrying signs and American flags, according to NBCDFW.com
Those that attended the demonstration said they are angry the company is not standing up for those who opposed getting vaccinated and that the company is requiring vaccines as a condition of employment.
There are a couple different wheels spinning in this matter. While CEO Gary Kelly says he's not in favor of the Government mandating vaccines he has also said the company, as a government contractor, has to abide by President Biden's executive order that requires anyone that does business with the government to require vaccinations.
The Southwest Airlines Pilot's Association has filed a lawsuit asking Chief North Texas Federal Judge Barbara Lynn to issue a temporary restraining order and an injunction blocking the requirement. That hearing is scheduled for late Friday afternoon.
