Recently retired Carrollton police officer dies from COVID-19

A recently retired Carrollton police officer has died from COVID-19.

Officials say Sergeant Allen Hollis died yesterday at the age of 38, leaving his wife and two children.

Hollis was a life-long North Texan, having graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 2001.

He joined Carrollton Police Department in 2006 and spent a good part of his career as a motorcycle officer. He made Sergeant in 2017 and retired early this year.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
